Profile of Paul J. Catanese, CPA, M.B.A. - Partner

Paul is a resident of Trinity County and lives on the Trinity River. He is a licensed and bonded guide and obviously enjoys the outdoors. In addition, Paul is actively involved in the sports community where he coaches baseball.

Paul is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where he obtained a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A. in Finance. He attended Tulane on a football scholarship, played quarterback and was the Team Captain. In addition, he played in the Minnesota Twins organization for three years. He began his accounting career in 1982 in new Orleans with the firm of KPMG Peat Marwick specializing in taxation. While with KPMG Peat Marwick, Paul also worked in their Oakland, San Francisco and Palo Alto offices wherein he specialized in corporate taxation and departed at the rank of partner in 1995. While in the San Francisco Bay Area, Paul sat on the Board of the Building Industry Association and the mayor appointed San Francisco Bio-Tech Task Force. Paul has been with D. H. Scott & Company since early 1995 and become a partner with the firm in 1997. He continues to specialize in the tax area, and co-manages that function.

Paul is currently one of the founding members and on the Executive Committee for Friends of the Trinity River. In addition, Paul has authored many articles and given numerous speeches.
