Staff Accountant

Responsible for all phases of income tax, accounting and auditing procedures. Compiles financial information, processes journal entries into various accounts, reconciles reports and financial data. Familiarity with laws and regulations that apply to an accounting function required to ensure compliance. Strong computer skills a must. Includes a competitive salary with benefits.

Specific areas of responsibilities include:

•  Prepares tax returns (business and personal) as assigned by supervisors.

•  Prepares working trial balance, adjusting journal entries and tax accruals for stand-alone tax returns.

•  May maintain property and equipment records, and calculate depreciation and amortization.

•  Prepares and reconciles account schedules as required.

•  Completes tax returns for some financial statement related returns, which may be assigned by the A&A Department.

•  Performs light research projects in the area of taxation, including payroll and sales tax.

•  Reviews 1040 input of interns during tax season.

•  Begins to prepare more complicated business tax returns including consolidated and multi-state.

•  Communicates with clients regarding information needed or clarification of issues.

•  Is aware of budgets on engagements and has the ability to work with supervisors on keeping within those budgets.

Audit Manager

This position requires 4 + years public accounting audit experience. The candidate should have a command of GAAP and financial statement presentations. In addition, the successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit and review procedures and techniques. Candidate will assume responsibility for efficiently supervising financial reporting engagements. Responsibilities include developing quality client relationships, supervising senior and staff level accountants, and communicating engagement status to Firm principles. Moderate to low overtime required throughout the year. High level of overtime may be required to complete audit and tax engagements. Relocation costs are negotiable.

Specific areas of responsibilities include:

•  Assume responsibility for planning, supervising and completing engagements.

•  Plan the timing and assigning of staff to engagements.

•  Review engagement work papers, resolve any problems and keep the partners informed of all important developments in the engagement.

•  Prepare client billings.

•  Evaluate the performance of senior accountants.

•  Develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm.

•  Assist in administrative functions as assigned by the partners.

•  Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.

•  Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the firm's partners.

•  Moderate to low overtime required throughout the year. High level of overtime may be required to complete audit and tax engagements.

•  4+ years of recent experience in Public Accounting

•  CPA certification

•  Experience with closely-held businesses highly desirable

•  High energy, high urgency, ability to work independently, willingness to take a hands-on role, a team builder

•  Ability to interface effectively with clients and team members

•  Experience in training and developing staff
